Auto-wipe system
What it does for you
Without it, every wipe needs an admin online at the right time: warn the players, save, stop the server, delete the right files, change the seed, restart, check the new world, rename the server, post on Discord, start a new leaderboard season. On forced wipe day, you also wait for Facepunch's update and your Oxide / Carbon build before starting.
With the auto-wipe system, you set your wipe rhythm once (for example every Thursday at 19:00, plus the forced wipe) and Servycore does the rest, every time:
- Plans the wipes: your rules, the forced wipe, the next map (same map, random seed, rotation or a custom map).
- Announces them: countdown messages in game, Discord messages before and after the wipe, with the new map image.
- Wipes the server: save, stop, backup, delete what you chose (map, blueprints, plugin data), set the new map, start, check the new world.
- Finishes the job: new server name, new leaderboard season, "Just wiped" message on Discord.
The auto-wipe system needs RCON and your panel (Pterodactyl, Pelican, WISP or AMP): Servycore only runs wipes it can do from start to end (stop the server, delete the files, change the map, start it again). With RCON only or SFTP / FTP, the switch stays off and your host keeps doing the wipes; the "Just wiped" Discord message still goes out when Servycore sees the new world. If a server later loses its panel or RCON, its auto-wipe system turns off.
Each server has a Wipes page with one switch: Auto-wipe system on / off. The auto-wipe system is included from the Basic plan.
When to wipe
Start from a preset (Weekly, Twice a week, Biweekly = 1st and 3rd Thursday, Every 2 weeks, Monthly) and change anything. Presets are offered until your server has a wipe set up, so a saved schedule is never replaced by one click. A schedule is a list of rules, each with a wipe type (map, map + blueprints, full) and a time:
- Every N weeks on the days you pick;
- Nth day of the month (1st, 2nd... last Thursday);
- N days after the forced wipe.
Tick Also wipe at Facepunch's forced wipe to follow the first Thursday of the month (Servycore waits for the Rust update and your Oxide / Carbon build). Regular wipes just before it are skipped (you choose the window). Add skipped dates and one-off wipes, approval before each wipe, and an offset between servers.
The Coming up list shows the next wipes. On each one: Skip (put it back later), Change (type and time for this date only), Approve when approval is on. The forced wipe cannot be skipped, only its type changes.
The map after each wipe
The Map tab shows the map now on the server and the one the next wipe will use. Pick how the map changes:
- Keep the current map: same seed and size, a fresh copy of the map.
- Random seed: a new seed at every wipe, within the sizes you choose.
- Rotation: your list of maps, one per wipe, then back to the first. Each map is a seed and size (pick seeds on rustmaps.com) or a custom map link. Reorder them, and choose which one the next wipe uses with Use at the next wipe.
- Custom map URL: one https link to a
.mapfile.{date}in the link becomes the wipe date, so players download the new file.
The map changes through your panel's startup variables (WORLD_SEED, WORLD_SIZE, MAP_URL).
How a wipe runs
Countdown in game, save, stop, backup, delete the wipe files and the plugin data you chose, new map, start, check the new world, then the after-wipe (new hostname, leaderboard season, announcements).
Use Simulate to see every step without touching anything. A failed step can be resumed; a server stopped before deleting is started again.
The in-game wipe timer (the countdown players see in the game menu) follows your schedule.
Calendar
Wipe calendar (network) shows every server's wipes month by month, the forced wipe, past results and skipped wipes. Filter by group or server.
