The <t:…> tags become dates and countdowns in each member's own time zone once posted.

Times that read right for everyone

Your players live in different time zones, and "wipe at 8pm" means something else in London, New York and Sydney. Discord solves this with timestamp tags: you write <t:1793905200:F> in a message and every member sees that moment in their own time zone and language. The builder above writes those tags for you from the date and time you pick.

Two styles do most of the work in a wipe announcement:

Tag Shows Use it for
<t:UNIX:F> Thursday, November 5, 2026 8:00 PM The exact wipe date and time
<t:UNIX:R> in 3 days, in 2 hours The countdown, updated live by Discord

Discord also has shorter styles (t, T, d, D, f) for a time only or a date only. UNIX is the number of seconds since January 1, 1970: the builder calculates it from your wipe time.

The three messages of a wipe

A wipe usually deserves three posts, and the builder has one preset for each:

  1. Before the wipe: what wipes (map only, map and blueprints, or everything), when, with the relative countdown. Post it a day before and again an hour before.
  2. Wipe starting: the server is going down. Players stop asking "is it down?" in your channels.
  3. Just wiped: the server is open. Give the new map link and the connect command, so players can join in one copy-paste.

Keep each one short. The connect line uses the console command players already know: client.connect address:port, typed in the F1 console of the game.

Before you post

  • Check the time once more. The builder starts from the next force wipe; change it to your own wipe time if you wipe on another day. The wipe planner lists your next wipe days.
  • Mind the force wipe. On the first Thursday of the month, servers wipe once Facepunch releases the update, usually around 19:00 UK time but not to the minute. "Wiping with the update" is safer than a precise minute that day.
  • Use the right channel. A dedicated announcements channel, followable by other servers, keeps the message from getting lost in chat.

Posting it without lifting a finger

With Servycore, wipe announcements post themselves for every server of your network: one hour before, when the wipe starts and right after, with the new map, the connect address and the countdown. You choose the channel and the wording once; the times always match your real schedule, force wipes included, because they come from the same Auto-wipe system that runs the wipe.

Questions people ask

How do I make a countdown in a Discord message?

Write <t:UNIX:R>, where UNIX is the time in seconds since 1970. Discord shows "in 3 days", then "in 2 hours", and keeps it up to date. The builder writes it for you.

Will members in other countries see the right time?

Yes. Timestamp tags are shown in each member's own time zone and language, which is the whole point of using them instead of writing a time by hand.

Can a bot or a webhook post this message?

Yes. The message is plain Discord markdown: it works the same whether you paste it yourself, post it with a bot or send it through a channel webhook.

What should a wipe announcement include?

What wipes (map, blueprints or everything), when (with a countdown), the new map link once it is known, and the connect command. Anything else, such as group limits or rates, fits on one extra line.

Can I schedule wipe announcements automatically?

Servycore posts them on its own before, during and after each wipe of your servers, from the same schedule that runs the wipes.
